During December 2007, Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) organized a pro-vegetarian campaign in Boudh Gaya, in-coordination with Kagyu Monlam Organizers during Kagyu Monlam a Buddhist prayer festival for World Peace. The five activists of TVA involved in the project traveled from Dharamsala and TCV School Suja.
December 21st, 2007, 7:00AM Bylakuppe, India: TVA organized prayers (Monlam recitation) at Sera Monastery, Bylakuppe for the countless animals who were slaughtered on the day. Similar prayers were also recited by the nuns at Jayang Choeling Nunnery, Dharamsala on the request of TVA members.
Tuesday October 2, 2007 Bylakuppe, India: On the occasion of World Vegetarian Day, Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) organized a free Vegetarian lunch program for the people of Bylakuppe. Sera Jhe Geko (Disciplinary Head) Geshe Lobsang Chodhar and TCV School Spiritual guide Geshe Lobsang Gyatso were the chief guests for the program.
August 26, 2007 (Nako, Hangrang Valley): Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) team from Dharamsala, with two other volunteers visited Nako village (situated at an altitude of about 12000 ft.) at Kinnaur District in Himachal Pradesh, about 500 kilometers from Dharamsala, to promote Vegetarianism amongst the people of Himalayan region.
