Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) opened its first branch office at Dharamsala. Only a few close friends of TVA were invited at the opening ceremony which was followed by a small tea party. Mr. Tenzin Dhundup, Secretary, Dept. of Home, CTA was the chief guest for the event and inaugurated the office.

The office will be run by one of the two Managing Directors of TVA and will be assisted by two executive members who would take the responsibilities of that of a Treasurer and Accountant.

Following is the statement released on the event day:

Dear friends,
It has been a remarkable year for TVA, as we continue to grow and expand our reach. As this letter was being written it was amazing to realize how much we have grown and accomplished in the past few years.
To add a step closer towards our mission, today we are opening our branch office here in Dharamsala. On this occasion, we would like you to know how thankful we are for your continued support without which we wouldn't have made it this far.

At TVA we are committed to speak for the voiceless and speak against the injustices done to these weak and the innocent animals. 56 billion animals are slaughtered each year to appease our appetite. The world is getting drenched with insanity and ignorance. At such times, we feel it is very important to take initiatives and responsibilities to liberate these poor creatures or else otherwise at least lessen the sufferings of these innocent creatures.

With dreams as our motivation and hope as our strength, we are still committed to make a difference in the lives of suffering animals so that this world becomes a better place to live in for humans and for animals.

The following few pages will give you more information about our organization, governing members and our activities.

The decision of opening a branch office in Dharamsala was made by TVA's Board of Directors during our second Board meeting held on April 18, 2007 at TVA's Head Office in Mysore.

We hope you will continue to support our cause and help us help animals.

With gratitude

for Tibetan Volunteers for Animals
